Cardiology

Cardiology is the branch of medicine that encompasses the diagnosis and treatment with respect to the disorders of the heart and the cardiovascular system. It also includes the prevention of cardiac conditions by prognosis of various symptoms that may lead to cardiac and related issues.

Cardiology also deals with the treatment of congenital heart defects, coronary artery disease, heart failure, valvular heart disease and electrophysiology. There are further specialisations in cardiology as Paediatric cardiologists are paediatricians who specialize in cardiology besides Physicians who specialize in cardiac surgery are called Cardiothoracic surgeons.
